We are all excited to re-introduce this amazingly cool brand; Garrett Leight. This eponymous brand, out of Los Angeles (as our Stateside pals do say) nods with at least a little reverence to the godfather of Californian eyewear Larry Leight.. Yes, the Leight family is steeped in the business. Garrett's dad Larry was the founder of famous Oliver Peoples eyewear brand and therefore it's little wonder that the strong genes have directed and inspired Garrett to follow in Larry's footsteps.
Lets start with the basics, the foundation of all respectful brands, the quality of their products.
GLCO’s whole range has been made by hand by the same group of eyewear professionals that have honed their world famous skills with Larry for decades. This has made for an assembly of spectacles that have the feel, the weight, and the straight up magic you would only expect from a masterfully handcrafted pair of artisan glasses.
To give the brand it's full name; GLCO - Garrett Leight California Optical is inspired by icons such Arthur Miller, Greta Garbo, Charles Bukowski and their eyewear has somewhat instructed his pencil. There is nothing ostentatious about Garrett Leight glasses, with no visible logo. The brand hatched in Garrett's Venice Beach store in 2009 has grown quickly and takes shelf space in prestigious stores such as Bergdorf Goodmans in NYC as well as the company flagship stores in Los Angeles and San Francisco and of course online at Pretavoir... . Garrett also loves to collaborate with brands he admires such as Mark McNairy, Amélie Pichard and Thierry Lasry and we look to his rise and rise with great interest here at Pretavoir.
