Prada Linea Rossa Sunglasses - Prada Sport Sunglasses

The Prada Linea Rossa Sunglasses collection reflects a sports-inspired approach with a Prada-approved refined elegance and uncompromising quality. Prada Sport sunglasses are designed with an everyday casual yet sophisticated clientele. Utilising lightweight fabrics and flexible rubber temples, the selection of Prada Linea Rossa frames is stylish yet practical. Each pair of Prada Linea Rossa opticals are branded with the stylish Prada logo and a red line signifying the authentic essence of Prada.

The athleisure line was relaunched in 2009 when Prada decided to rebrand their sports line. It took the sportswear and streetwear industry, and fans, by surprise as high fashion garments were incorporated into sportswear. The modern luxury sport line dates back to the 1980s when Prada was known to incorporate unusual materials that weren't usually seen in the luxury fashion market.

Prada Linea Rossa Sunglasses and the History of Prada

Prada was founded in 1913 by Mario and Martino Prada. The brothers focused on leather goods under the name ‘Fratelli Prada’, in Milan’s prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II. Concentrating on handbags, trunks, accessories and jewellery, Prada was quickly recognised for its innovative designs. Most prominently by applying sophisticated techniques to fine materials. This superb attention to detail transported Prada into the forefront of aristocracy, with the most stylish members of the haute-bourgeoisie in Europe carrying their designs. In 1919, Prada became the official supplier of the Italian Royal Family. Since then, Prada has been able to display the House of Savoy coat of arms and knotted rope design in its trademark logo

Mario Prada did not believe that women should have a role in business. So he prevented female family members from entering the company, which can now be seen as ironic. However, Mario's son had no interest in the business, so his daughter, Luisa Prada, took over the brand as his successor running it for almost twenty years before her daughter Miuccia Prada joined the company in 1970. In 1978, Miuccia Prada married Tuscan entrepreneur Patrizio Bertelli. Together their combined creativity and business savvy empowered the pair to prosper within the luxury goods sector.

In 1984, Prada debuted their now-iconic nylon backpack. This backpack was remarkable for its highly durable, synthetic fabric, which was so different from the rest of Prada’s product offerings. The success of this product led to a more sports-focused line of Prada’s design work featuring nylon fabrics, simple silhouettes and minimalist design aesthetics. Today, Miuccia and Patrizio are still at the helm of the Prada family business and continue to work innovatively to create sharp yet unconventional looks that are cutting-edge styles. To this day, the bold red Prada Linea logo still dominates fashion.
