About Gucci

Gucci is recognised worldwide for its classic double G logo on its leather goods - the Gucci brand is known for its uniquely bold designs that are truly luxurious and must-have pieces.

Guccio Gucci was born in 1881 to a simple Italian leather goods maker. One of his first jobs was as a porter at the Savoy hotel in London where he became obsessed with the glamorous suitcases that the guests arrived with from all over the world. This inspired Guccio Gucci to open his Italian fashion label in 1921 producing luxury travel goods for Italy's wealthy upper-classes, as well as equestrian equipment. Gucci is one of the oldest Italian fashion brands in operation today.

In 2014, Marco Bizzarri became the CEO of Gucci and hired Alessandro Michele as creative director. These two completely redesigned Gucci, preparing it for the next generation by departing from GG’s outdated ideas that were holding the brand back. The design duo removed the historic faces of the brand, such as Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly, and replaced them with more modern-day celebrities such as Rhianna, Lana Del Rey and Harry Styles. Alessandro Michele has been praised for his work making fashion more gender-fluid, unique and fun meanwhile still keeping to the high standard of Guccio Gucci’s original work.

Gucci glasses are no different with bold shapes, intricate gold detailing and fantastical colours. Inspired by the 60s and 70s. Gucci eyewear is handmade with high-quality acetate and unique artisan-crafted materials showcased through innovative design features such as transparent tones with bilayer temples, Swarovski crystal logos and Web/Sylvie decorations.
