Gucci Glasses

Gucci glasses are at the top of the luxury fashion market. Their prescription glasses collection is eclectic, creative and innovative in their design. The creativity expressed through each frame design is uniquely Gucci.

Gucci eyewear consists of Gucci glasses for men and women - with the vast majority of their frames being unisex. Inspired by the 60s and 70s, Gucci eyewear is handmade with high-quality acetate and unique artisan-crafted materials. Their eyewear collection feature recognisable design details that perfectly represent the brand. These symbols are showcased through innovative design features such as logo detailing, bilayer temples, Swarovski crystal embellishments and traditional decorations.

The Historic & Significant Logo's Displayed On Gucci Glasses

The recognisable house logo appears vividly on all Gucci reading glasses. 'The Lettering Logo' is usually seen in a refined and subtle gold plaque at the hinge. 'The GG Interlocking Logo' is a bigger and bolder round symbol, instantly recognisable in gold as Gucci.

The traditional green and red fine stripe legs on their glasses are called 'The Web' and are a hallmark of Gucci. Similarly, 'The Sylvie' is a more romantic interpretation of 'The Web' with thicker, bolder, lines comprised of blue, red and cream.

The fashion house also uses a variety of styles and symbols that make Gucci so desirable today. 'The Décor' is an abstract floral gold embellishment hidden inside the temples. Whereas the 'Gucci Crystal' design is bright, bold and in your face by using round, heart or star crystals. One of the most common motifs featured on Gucci glasses for ladies is 'The Bumble Bee' which signifies nobility.

Family Business Turned Global Brand: The History Of Gucci

The Gucci brand is one of the oldest Italian fashion brands, founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci. Gucci was a former hotel worker from Florence, Italy, who began by selling leather goods and was known for his high-quality craftsmanship. The products combined English aesthetics with Tuscan craftsmanship and expertise.

Guccio Gucci was born in 1881 to a simple Italian leather goods maker. One of his first jobs was as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London. Here he became obsessed with the glamorous leather suitcases that the guests arrived with. Seeing visitors, and their luggage, from all over the world inspired Guccio Gucci to open his Italian fashion label in 1921.

His label produced luxury travel goods and equestrian equipment for Italy's wealthy upper-class residents. In 1930 he expanded his business to Milan and Rome and continued to grow throughout the 1940s and 50s by expanding his product line. When it reached the 1960s, Gucci became a favourite of Hollywood stars, including Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Since Guccio Gucci's death in 1953, the brand has undergone several changes in leadership, most notably in 2014, when Marco Bizzarri became the CEO of Gucci and hired Alessandro Michele as Creative Director. These two designers completely redesigned Gucci, preparing it for the next generation. Alessandro Michele has made fashion more gender-fluid and is responsible for 'breathing new life into the brand.' His collections were unique and fun while still keeping to the high standard of Guccio Gucci’s original work.

At the beginning of 2023, Sabato De Sarno took the reins from Michele as he continues to make Gucci one of the most iconic and recognisable brands in luxury fashion.
