When you are getting ready for a night out, is your outfit (and confidence) brought down by your frames? Pret knows glasses can not only add to an outfit but can completely highlight your best features, or even make it MORE beautiful that before! Glasses aren't just for seeing everything around you, once you find the perfect pair they can change the way you see yourself. Check out our top five tips on how to make the most out your glasses.
It sounds silly but you would be surprised at the amount of people who are wearing glasses that are too big or too small for their face. The maths behind it is really simple; if you have a smaller face, go for frames that aren't too wide, and vice versa. Try on loads of pairs and find a shape that generally suit you. Once you have narrowed down the styles of frame you will find it A LOT easier for online shopping. Don't get caught up in what your friends or celebrities, eyewear is a personal choice so choose a pair that make you happy. Most rectangular shapes suit anyone, no matter what age. If you are looking for something a bit bolder the Wayfarer is another classic frame that suits most face shapes.
It's so important to get the prescription that is right for you. If you have been given a prescription that is too strong or too weak, you may have some problems headed your way. If your glasses have been made too strong it can cause problems such as crossed eyes and headaches. A prescription that isn't strong enough can worsen vision as your eyes will be working hard to make up for the weak prescription. Constant squinting and straining is as tiring as it sounds, just make sure you get the right prescription from your local optometrist . Make sure you ask for your Pupil Distance (PD) if ordering online as this will be required to make your lenses perfect for your eyes only.
Even if you have the worst vision, thanks to technology you don't have to put up with the embarrassment of thick lenses. Having nice thin and clear lenses really works wonders both in person and in photographs.
Choosing what colour of glasses to get can be a tricky one. Of course, you can buy different colours to match different outfits (which can be fun but expensive), or you can go with something a bit more neutral to go with anything. Black frames are a firm favourite with most but do not forget other hues which compliment both skin tone and bright colours themselves, like tortoishell, navies, metallics and nudes. We all are guilty to gravitating to our favourite colours, but that doesn't always mean they are the best for you.
Who cares if you wear glasses? Nowadays you can look and feel amazing wearing anything if you wear it with the right attitude. Walking around with your head held high pulls together any outfit and never forget, nothing goes better with a good pair of frames than an even better personality.
