About Macushield
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the biggest cause of blindness in the UK. It can be exacerbated by age, smoking, diet, UV damage or a genetic disposition to the disease; but it can happen to anyone.
Once AMD has taken hold, there are treatment options; specifically injections into the eye on a regular basis. Due to the discomfort from this treatment method, prevention is the much preferred option.
Macushield was developed for people over 50 to reduce the likelihood of failing eye health.
How Does It Work?
Macushield is a dietary supplement, that contains three important macular carotenoids: Lutein Zeaxanthin and meso- zeaxanthin. Research has shown that these antioxidants are able to protect and enrich a person's macular pigment. In MacuShield these ingredients are derived from the marigold plant and they can help absorb harmful blue light; as well as protect against oxidative stress. We can provide MacuShield in packs of either 30 or 90 capsules.
